Problems with PayPal
We are honestly flabbergasted this morning when we saw an email from PayPal stating that we have violated their Acceptable Use Policy. We have been using PayPal since the launch of Movimus Wrestling in November 2012 without problems. Hence, we do feel blindsided by PayPal.
While we do not know the exact terms of our violation, a review of the Acceptable Use Policy, made us suspect 2 possible items. Under Prohibited Activities, in the 2nd bullet point,
"relate to transactions involving (a) narcotics, steroids, certain controlled substances or other products that present a risk to consumer safety, (b) drug paraphernalia, (c) items that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity, (d) stolen goods including digital and virtual goods (e) items that promote hate, violence, racial intolerance, or the financial exploitation of a crime, (f) items that are considered obscene, (g) items that infringe or violate any copyright, trademark, right of publicity or privacy or any other proprietary right under the laws of any jurisdiction, (h) certain sexually oriented materials or services, (i) ammunition, firearms, or certain firearm parts or accessories, or (j) ,certain weapons or knives regulated under applicable law."
We take pride in the wrestling matches we produce. In the past 2 years, through the support of our fans and customers, we have grown and expanded in new content, as well as talent joining the Movimus Wrestling family. It is a concern to us if companies like PayPal consider the content we produce to be obscene or sexually oriented.
As many of our fans and customers are aware throughout the history of Movimus Wrestling, we have never feature nudity nor any sexually graphic content. It is a road that we are not interested in pursuing. The closest we think of our content is akin to a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition or a Victoria Secrets Fashion Show. Instead of women showing lots of skin, we showcase male wrestlers, and we have done that for years with no problems.
At Movimus Wrestling, we celebrate the beauty, and the strength of the male physique. We celebrate the skills and the dedication our wrestlers have put into their work. And we celebrate our growth as a business and as a resource for amateur wrestlers out there who enjoy the sport of wrestling.
We have reached out to PayPal and are waiting to hear back. In the mean time, we are exploring other Payment Gateway options that we can use. Until we can get a resolution and solution, we appreciate your patience, and more importantly, your continual support in our small company.
